I had my first night in Russia. I'm in heaven. It's cold rainy and gray. My favorite!! My sponsors took me out to a Ukranian restaurant. they are bright young tech artists and we talked about art & technology & politics & the state of the world & education & health & on & on & on. I LOVE bright fun artists!!!!! I'll be working with a team of designers & engineers and we will be creating a monumental sculpture for the city of Kirov. I am the headliner (ad only artist) and they will be following me around with a team of video guys. I am beyond happy!

NEWEST SCULPTURE
My recently completed sculpture, "Liberté".
This bronze piece was Inspired by the French national anthem “Le Marseillaise”.
Through the ages, conflicts have been waged through bloody battles on the fields and shores of distant nations.
We now need to win the fight within ourselves.
The sanguine patina on this angel (sanguine – blood red – from the French word “blood”) is an aesthetic symbol for the heart and life force within us.

SCULPTURE OF THE WEEK
This week I wanted to share the story behind my sculpture, "The Little Mermaid", because not only was the 5 ft. version of this piece selected for the Great Lakes Bay Region "Fall In Art and Sol" solar art exhibition, but I also just sold this piece at 22 in. to a collector in Hawaii for his pool area.
When my daughter was very young, we went to Copenhagen. While there, we visited Carl Jacobsen's famous sculpture of The Little Mermaid on the rocky shores of the city. I wanted to create my own, unique version of this classic piece. Cast in bronze and on a base of coral, "The Little Mermaid" has more attitude than most as she surveys the world with total calm.
